Your Minnesota Dragon Boat Club founders met this weekend to continue working on our Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and update each other on things like how much it costs to have a boat on Lake Phalen (about $300, it seems, for a buoy unless we could store a dragon boat as a canoe). We think we can file our business plan in the next couple of weeks or so.  We are also starting to recruit for some specific start-up roles around finances in particular. None of us have backgrounds in this area.

We are also looking forward to our first speaking engagements. Currently we are working on a date for a presentation in mid-January to the Macalester College community. This is exciting for a few reasons, but in part because this is so integral to our mission – sharing the benefits that this sport brings through its connection to water and nature, to people, to so many things that influence a person’s well-being for the better.
