The Minnesota Dragon Boat Club is adjusting and adapting to the challenges of COVID-19. Here are a few things the Board and working committees are addressing.

Our fundraiser on Saturday, March 28, will be moving to an online only venue. Our fundraising team is working on developing an online silent auction plan as well as investigating alternative raffle options, so look for more information on how to support us going forward. In the meantime, if you’re in the area, get a crowler or growler to-go from our hosts, Dual Citizen Brewing Co.

Our committees and working groups are conducting business using online tools and phone calls whenever possible.

Our Logistics and Festivals committee is gathering information on cancellation policies for events planned for our upcoming summer racing schedule. We are trying to find the right balance of supporting our community event organizers during these challenging times with the hope that by late June, July, and August, we will be able to gather in person and celebrate our sport, and caution knowing that the situation is fluid and changing.

At this point, we have not started to build a contingency plan for May practices and events; that is on our agenda for our April Board of Directors meeting and will take into account further recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as they develop.

As always, please let us know if you have questions. Info@mndragonboat.org.

In the meantime, stay active and connected in a safe and smart way: get out for a walk, meditate, call a friend, and take care of yourselves.

Paddles up!
