Thanks to everyone who came out to our open paddle at the end of June. We added several new members to the club after that event, and are glad to have them as part of our dragon boat family.

We had our first shared practice on July 16th with Off The Edge, a Premiere Women’s team paddling on White Bear Lake, and their two groups of community education paddlers from Mahtomedi and White Bear Lake. This was a lot of fun, and gave our club members a good experience of how to load into a boat from a dock, work out issues in line-ups, and focus in our own boat when there is another team out on the water with us.

We have shifted our focus to preparing for our two competitions this summer, the Bemidji Dragon Boat Festival, and the Lake Superior Dragon Boat Festival. And we are looking forward to at least two months of paddling season ahead of us!
